Blend European design and Japanese Ikebana
These arrangements were made by students of California Flower Art Academy at our classroom. Both arrangements are called "S" Shape Arrangement. This is a kind of mixture of Ikebana and European arrangement. Namely arrangement itself is European style but the concept of creating beauty of linear curve using thin material is based on Ikebana arts that often features line flowers rather than mass flowers. Those who learn both European arrangements and Japanese Ikebana often show interest in blending both skills of European and Japanese floral art. Namely some of those floral artists enjoy blending both styles and creating unique floral arrangements.
One of features of Ikebana arrangement is focusing on thin and curly branches like curly willow as well as greenery rather than using colorful flowers. Therefore we can often find Ikebana arrangements that do not use any petals. This kind of arrangement offers entirely different atmosphere which is appreciated by some people who love Ikebana arts.
If you are interested in learning or just experiencing floral arrangements, we can recommend you to try under mentioned affordable programs:
Ikebana Short Seminar Program (for learning Japanese traditional floral art) Introductory Trial Budget Program (for learning European style arrangement)
